Douglas started performing at the age of 12, when he was selected to tour with the youth circus company, Circus Smirkus (USA). Little did he know that this early experience would inspire a long and varied career performing in circuses, stage shows and festivals all around the world!
After completing a degree in Environmental Biology in his home state of Vermont USA, adventure in Australia beckoned and he spent three years at the National Institute of Circus Arts (NICA), adding a second degree to his stable. His lifelong love of circus has led to stints touring with companies such as Circus Oz (Australia), Midnight Circus (USA/Italy), Zoppe Family Circus (USA), Ben10 Live (Australia/India), and P&O Pacific Cruises.
Currently, Douglas is focusing on presenting, team-building facilitation, roving characters and murder mystery hosting for a range of clients. He has appeared at major corporate events hosted by Melbourne Grand Prix, Honda, GE Money, Optus, NAB, Myer and many more. Douglas prides himself on being professional at all times, and focused on providing the best possible experience for his audience.
Charlotte Strantzen is Douglas’s partner-in-crime. Together they have written many original themed murder mysteries, interactive shows, and children's theatre. The two regularly perform and host together, with their long creative partnership adding another level to client events.
